- thickness, measured in stafflinethickness.

- list of stem lengths given beam multiplicity .

- list of minimum stem lengths given beam multiplicity.

lengths (list):
- Stem length given multiplicity of flag.

beam (grob (GRaphical OBject)):
- pointer to the beam, if applicable.

stem-shorten (list):
- shorten stems in forced directions given flag multiplicity.

duration-log (integer):
- 2-log of the notehead duration, i.e. 0=whole note, 1 = half note, etc.

- number of beams extending to left and right.
