
The preferences dialog asks for an ICAO location indicator representing
your current area (this is the location whose weather will be displayed).

This is a four-letter code.  By clicking on "Lookup Your ICAO Code" you
should be able to find the code for your area.

Otherwise, you can query the USA National Weather Service online for your
ICAO code at:

  http://www.nws.noaa.gov/oso/siteloc.shtml

Alternatively, a current list of all recognised codes can be found at:

  http://cvs.gnome.org/lxr/source/gnome-applets/gweather/Locations

As an example, searching through this file for Melbourne gives two
entries; one of these is in the Australia section and one in the Florida
section.  The Australia section contains the line:

  loc11=Melbourne YMML ------ ---

Thus the four-letter code for Melbourne, Australia is YMML.

Another list that is easier to read but only contains codes for the USA
