This is the Debian/GNU Linux prepackaged version of David Etherton's
HP ScanJet driver. It was put together by Johnie Ingram
(johnie@debian.org) from sources downloaded from sunsite:

    ftp://sunsite.unc.edu/pub/Linux/apps/graphics/capture/hpscanpbm-0.3a.tar.gz

The changes were minimal -- mainly adding support for the Debian
package maintenance scheme, by adding various debian/* files. One
line of code was changed so it will compile on current kernels.

At David's request, a manpage was written and sent to him for
inclusion in later versions.

THIS IS ALPHA SOFTWARE. IT WORKS FINE FOR ME.
IT MIGHT NOT WORK FOR YOU. You'll need to be
familiar with rebuilding kernels to take
advantage of this program (under older versions
	of Linux at least)
